In the winter of 2013, Jen Campbell–art teacher at Rumney Elementary School–invited me to work with her students for their first school-wide lantern-residency and community parade.
The event was beautiful; Sambatucada,Burlington’s Street-Samba Band provided some lively beats, and a winter fire, cookies and cocoa awaited the lantern-walkers and community members for the post-parade finale.
