Between August and October 2025, we’ll be working with the communities of Elizabeth City, NC in partnership with the Arts of the Albemarle.
Lantern Workshop Program:
- Train-the-trainers: Sat. Aug. 23rd, 10am-4pm
- Community workshops: Sat. Oct. 4th, 10am-12pm OR 1pm-3pm
- Large-scale lantern lab: Sat-Sun Oct. 11th & 12th, 10am-4pm on both days.

Lantern-Making Residency, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. May 2nd-4th, 2025.
In May 2025, we’ll be working with the artist communities of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in partnership with Jackson Hole Public Art.
Over 3 days, we’ll be facilitating a professional development training with teachers and teaching artists, and a 2-day large-scale lantern lab with artists and creatives.

Under the Silver Moon. Cary’s 4th annual community lantern parade, January 11th, 2025
Join us for Cary’s 4th annual community lantern parade at the Downtown Cary Park, in Cary, NC.
All are welcome to bring their lanterns and shine their light in the darkest days of the season.
Assemble on the Frantz Square Lawn at 6pm, parade leaves at 6.15pm. If you have made a lantern in a previous year’s workshop, please remember to bring a light and a pole!

Lantern Making Residency. Watertown, MA. Oct, 2024
This October we’ll be traveling to Watertown, MA to work with the Public Art and Culture Committee and the communities of Watertown to build lanterns in preparation for Watertown’s inaugural lantern parade in 2025.
Over 4 days, we’ll be facilitating two community workshops, a professional development training with teachers and teaching artists, and a 2-day large-scale lantern lab with artists and creatives.

Professional Development Lantern-Making Workshop for K-12 Teachers, Charlotte Mecklenburg School District.
On August 20-21, we’ll be hosting two all-day professional development lantern-making workshops for K-12 teachers of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District at McColl Center for the Arts, Charlotte, NC.
August 20th – K-8 (Vellum Tower, Bamboo Star, Rattan Sphere)
August 21st – 9-12 (advanced lantern making)
